We use the Shopify Translation API to fetch your store's default language source content for translation, covering all source text supported by the Shopify Translation API. This method is SEO-friendly. You can manage and edit translations for in ”Manage Translation“, including:
- Homepage, Product pages, Collection pages, Store theme, Blogs, Emails, Metafields, Meta tags, Description tags, URL slugs, and more.
For third-party app content:
If the app sends source text to Shopify:
- The content can be found under Metafields and translated.
If the app does not send source text to Shopify:
- For apps integrated with Langwill (e.g., PageFly, Parcel Panel, Judge.me): Use the APP Translationsection to translate seamlessly.
- For apps not yet integrated: Use the Visual Editor feature to translate content.
By using these methods, you can achieve 100% translation coverage for your store.
Certain content cannot be translated due to Shopify restrictions:
- URL slugs: While
/products/en-ca/shoes
can be translated to/products/es-mx/zapatos
, the wordproducts
itself cannot be translated. - Market-specific URL customization: URL slugs are universal across markets where a language is visible.
- Tags: Product tags, article tags, and blog tags are not translatable.
