In this article, we'll explain the different language definitions and the three translation types available: Basic, Advanced, and Locked.
Default Language:
The default language is the language your online store is currently using.
Translation Language:
The language you want to translate your store into. You can add a new translation language by clicking the "Add Language" button. After adding a translation language, you need to choose the translation type. We offer three translation types:
Advanced: We'll generate an instant first layer of AI translation, and you can click "Manage Translations" to refine and edit the translation results.
Basic: This type integrates with browser's translation functionality, essentially triggering the browser's translation. As a result, no translation results will be generated, and you won't be able to edit the translations.
Locked: This is a locked state where no translation operations can be performed, and your users won't be able to see this language.
For more precise translation results and the ability to refine and edit the translations, we recommend choosing the Advanced translation type. If you only require machine translation without the need for editing, then use the Basic type.
