If you removed the app without disabling the language switcher, it may continue to appear on your storefront. Depending on when you installed Langwill, the removal steps are different.

For Users Who Installed Langwill Before 2025

Before Shopify’s 2025 update, Langwill injected small code snippets into the theme to enable the language switcher.

If you installed the app before 2025, please manually remove the code:

1 . Go to Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Edit Code → theme.liquid
2. Press Ctrl + F and search for "Langwil", then delete the code block.
3. In the file list, search for "etranslate" and delete all related files.

For Users Who Installed Langwill in 2025 and Later

Starting early 2025, Shopify changed how apps integrate with storefront themes. Langwill now uses App Embeds, meaning:
->No code is injected into your theme at all.
->Langwill’s widget only appears when the App Embed is enabled.
->Disabling the Langwill App Embed immediately removes the language switcher from your store.

If the App Embed is disabled (or the app is uninstalled), no leftover code remains, and no manual cleanup is required.
