If your store has multiple language or currency selectors that you no longer need, you can remove them by following these steps based on their source.
Removing Theme-Built Language/Currency Selectors
If the selector is built into your theme, follow these steps to remove it:
1. Go to Online Store > Themes in your Shopify admin.
2. Click Customize to enter the theme editor.
3. Navigate to the section that contains the language or currency selector.
4. Click on the section, and on the left panel, you will see options for Country/Region Selector and Language Selector.
5. Toggle off the selectors to disable them.
6. Click Save to apply the changes.
Note: If the selectors appear in both the header and footer, you need to disable them separately in each section.
Removing Selectors from Other Translation Apps
If the language or currency selector comes from a third-party translation app, you can remove it in two ways:
- Disable the selector within the app settings – Most translation apps provide an option to turn off the selector in their widget settings. Check the app’s settings and disable the selector if available.
- Disable the app’s embed in your theme – If you are no longer using the translation app, you can remove its widget by:
- Going to Online Store > Themes.
- Clicking Customize to open the theme editor.
- Navigating to App embeds.

- Locating the translation app and toggling off the embed.
- Clicking Save to confirm the changes. Once the app embed is disabled, the widget will be removed from your store.
